Chapelwood United Methodist Church is a 6,500+ member congregation located on the west side of Houston, TX. We are a community of worship communities whose common mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by “embodying God’s grace as we receive it to those who need it.”
As we carry out our mission, we LOVE learning. We have taken learning pilgrimages, such as this American Methodist Heritage Tour, to Savannah, GA, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, England, Ireland, and the Holy Land.
And we are about to take another learning pilgrimage! Starting October 3, 2015, with about 40 hearty pilgrims, we will be traveling to the northeast USA to retrace the founding of Methodism in America. We will visit key Methodist sites in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.
This website will provide information for travelers and interested parties alike as we prepare for the trip. Supplemental information on American Methodism, pre-trip lecture notes, schedules, etc. will be available. Once the trip begins, we’ll post pictures and blog posts for those who want to follow along on our adventure.
So check back often between now and the trip.
